I scored well into the autism range on the RAADS-R test and ADOS-2 behavioral assessment, which again, entirely unsurprising.

Sensory sensitivies

Brain silly

Typically, autistic brains have very "spike-y" IQ profiles, where they typically have very pronounced strengths and weaknesses.

My brain is no exception

Averaged out at 119 IQ, landing in the 90th percentile, though they did specifically say

Lily’s Full Scale IQ must be interpreted with caution, however. There is a scaled score point difference of 27 between the Perceptual Reasoning and Working Memory Indexes. Such a difference is rare, and statistically significant, occurring in less than 3.5% of same age peers.

Which is to say, so spikey that its hard to really gauge where my IQ lands. Like my perceptual reasoning lands quite high at 127, while my working memory lands perfectly average at 100.

IQ subtests

The subtests really show the story on my spikiness

Verbal comprehension was fairly spikey and processing speed and perceptual reasoning landed fairly flat.

However my working memory results are crazy.

The Working Memory Index measured Lily’s ability to register, maintain, and manipulate visual and auditory information in conscious awareness, which requires attention and concentration, as well as visual and auditory discrimination.

Lily’s performance here suggests a significant discrepancy in her working memory: while her auditory working memory was strongly underdeveloped, her ability to mentally manipulate information in her auditory working memory using numerical reasoning is exceptionally strong.

Whoops.

This can mean that when working memory tasks are meaningful, structured, or involve problem-solving or reasoning, she can utilize strategies and perform extremely well. This pattern is often seen in individuals with ADHD, autism spectrum traits, or executive functioning weaknesses, where spontaneous short-term attention to unstructured auditory information is weak, but higher order working memory tied to logic or interest areas is much stronger.

This is honestly super interesting information, if a little silly.

My brain so silly. So good at structured tasks and so so so bad at unstructured memorization.

I'm so so bad at remembering phone numbers and other bits of like "incidental" information.

Tell me something and I will forget it instantly.

Drive me somewhere a couple times and I'll remember the layout of the parking lot for life.

Strong vocab and spatial reasoning

While her index suggests she possesses as very strong overall breadth of verbal skills and abilities, there is a significant discrepancy in her score: her lexical knowledge is significantly well developed for her age while her abstract verbal reasoning is only adequately developed.

This pattern of performance indicates very strong visual spatial reasoning with both non-motor and motoric functioning, and strong pattern reasoning skills

Strong psychomotor and motor skills

Psychomotor speed

Ability to perform simple motor skills and dexterity through cognitive functions i.e., use of precision instruments or tools, performing mental and physical coordination i.e., driving a car, playing a musical instrument. Lily performed within the Above Average range.

Motor speed

Preparation and production of simple manual dexterity actions, e.g., manipulate and maneuver objects. Lily performed within the Above Average range.

I feel like I would've appreciated a further elaboration on these, a 99th percentile result is pretty important no? What does this mean for me? Am I just really gifted in moving my body in specific detailed ways?

My social acuity skills tho...

Spectrum screen, ability to recognize social cues or read facial expressions. Provides insight into inappropriate behavior, decreased inhibition, insensitivity to social standards, and social behavioral regulation. Lily performed within the Average range

Cool strengths in visual motor tasks. Maybe this is why archery is so fun for us.

2-5th percentile, 7th percentile, and then an amazing <1st percentile.

Truly amazing performance by yours truly.

Weirdly enough, this is another visual/motor skill test.

I scored 2-5th percentile on just copying the diagram...which is wild to me?

But then the working memory fails on the latter two don't surprise me.

To conclude: "highly intelligent"

"Borderline giftedness" and "highly intelligent" are fun.

Visual memory being compromised is funny.

ADHD maybe???

So my ADHD results were weird.

On the one hand, one psychologist:

Lily’s attention was very inconsistent.

On the other hand, the other psychologist:

With regard to attention, Lily generally sustained her attention and concentration on tasks. There was no notable disturbance of activity levels, and no signs of hyperactivity.

On the CPT test:

Interestingly, though, she was able to attend well to the repetitive continuous performance task on the CPT where no abnormal scores were noted

And on the screener:

On the ADHD Symptom checklist, Lily just missed clinical criteria for ADHD of combined subtype.

Some more tests came back inconclusive

So in the end, I got an ADHD secondary to mood diagnosis. That is to say, attention deficits but caused by mood disorders rather than by the typical ADHD dopamine mechanisms???

A weird diagnosis, and one that I want a second opinion on.

The BPD surprise

I got a surprise diagnosis on this battery of tests, specifically from the PAI personality index.

I have apparant Borderline Personality Disorder features?

(Grey means statistically significant)

Seems mostly related to the "identity problems" features of borderline, with a bit of the "affective instability" features.

I didn't get a full BPD diagnosis, but I do seem to feature some borderline traits.

Somatic concerns

Apparantely I have a "preoccupation" with my health?

With this in the report

Lily sees her life as severely disrupted by a variety of physical problems, some of which may be stress related. These problems have left Lily tense, unhappy, and have probably impaired her ability to concentrate on or perform important life tasks.

I was honestly pretty surprised by this.

I don't think I see my life in that way? Like physically that disabled/in discomfort?

I don't know.

Interpersonal

Unsurprisingly tagged as introverted

I do have a pretty extensive social network at this time, one that I'm very happy with.

Knowing that a lot of adults have minimal social networks, and that I have multiple groups to draw from, makes me quite happy. I've been successful in that area, despite my struggles in the past.

Finishing sentences

One of the more interesting social/emotional tests was one where I was asked to complete a series of sentences.

I answered uhhh...not great to those questions.

The rest of the tests were unsurprising

Overall thoughts

Very interesting results, as I had hoped.

It really shows where my strengths and weaknesses land, going from a <1st percentile all the way to a number of 99th percentile scores.
